San Jose Parish
The San Jose Parish has served the East San Jose neighborhood since, at least, 1927. GTH began by developing a comprehensive Master Site Plan that included phased improvements, a primary component of which was the construction of a new worship space to replace the aged and over-crowded existing church. After a two-year fundraising campaign during which GTH shepherded the project through the approval process with the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, GTH worked closely with the parish council to design this new church building.
GTH, the parish council and the general contractor worked closely to combat soaring costruction costs and were able to bring the project in under budget and on time. The church celebrated it's first mass on December 12, 2008, the parish's saint's day. This facility will serve the needs of it's culturally rich community well into the future.
Fisher & Smith
The Fisher & Smith Gymnasium is a shared-use facility in Albuquerque's east mountains. The facility is connected to the Vista Grande Community Center which is operated by Bernalillo County. Facilities are shared by Vista Grande, the east mountain community and the East Mountain Charter High School which is located within easy walking distance to the west.
This 5000 s.f. addition includes a large exercise room, an wrestling/aerobics room and a large storage room. Views from the exercise room are spectacular and were a major design consideration.
Low impact flooring is installed throughout the addition which also includes a rooftop snow-melt system.
Tingley Coliseum Upgrades
Named for former NM governor, Clyde Tingley, and finished in 1957, Tingley Coliseum has been host to many New Mexico State Fair events, rodeos, rock concerts, and circuses. Until these upgrades which started in 1998, the building did not have air-conditioning and the heating system was severly outdated.
GTH oversaw the design of a new west entrance, the addition of new heating and cooling systems, installation of a new elevator, replacement of all seating, and installation of a new "fly-away" stage for use during rodeo events. In addition, all of the concessions were updated, fire sprinklers were added, restrooms were updated and made accessible and accessible seating spaces were provided.
The updated Tingley Coliseum will serve the State for many years to come.
