The University of New Mexico
Awarded LEED-Platinum - New Mexico’s first publicly-funded building to reach this highest level of certification, the new College of Education Building also met UNM's tight budget and schedule for project delivery. GTH worked closely with COE faculty, UNM Capital Projects staff and UNM’s LEED consultant to design this facility containing state-of-the-art “smart” classrooms, labs, and administrative offices.
We have served UNM as design architect on many renovation projects on both the north and south campuses. We did many projects at Zimmermany Library including the addition of a fire alarm and sprinkler system, renovation of the basement and renovation of many of the building's restrooms. We have also done projects at Hokona Hall, Married Student Housing, Northrop Hall, and the Engineering Science Library, among others.
Jemez Valley Public Schools
A truly inspirational series of projects for GTH, the Jemez Valley Elementary, Middle and High Schools are located very near to eachother in this very picturesque valley.
Our first project was to design and build a new Middle School which was followed by designs for campus unifying exterior design renovations of both the Elementary School and the High School. The high school received a new cafeteria and kitchen and an updated gym/performance space. The Elementary School and the High School also received complete mechanical and electrical upgrades and correction of accesibility deficiencies.
Albuquerque Public Schools
GTH has designed projects for many school districts throughout the state of New Mexico. We worked for several years with Jemez Valley Public Schools, Bernalillo Public Schools, Capitan Schools and continue to do work for Albuquerque Public Schools. Our work for APS has included projects ranging from the elementary to the high school level.
We are currently designing an almost entirely new school at Mountain View Elementary School in the south valley. GTH has designed and overseen the construciton of over 1,000,000 sf of roofing renovations and replacements for the district.
Zimmerman Library Basement
Following a basement fire in 2006, GTH designed the fully renovated basement project which includes high density book storage, student study rooms and a large staff work area.
Mountain View Elementary School
When construction is completed in 2017, Mountain View Elementary School in Albuquerque's south valley will be almost entirely new. There will be a new 2-story classroom building, cafeteria/fine arts, kindergarten classrooms, library and administrative offices. The campus will also be made more secure by creation of new controlled access points. Traffic will be improved by separating parent and bus traffic into different areas of the site.
